~ Register Your Tree, Edible and Medicinal Plants |
Do have a fruit tree or bush in your yard that you don’t have time to harvest? Get in touch with Appleseed to register your tree and share the bounty [Click here for registration details]. A group of friendly harvesters will come to your home or neighbourhood to gather the fruit that might otherwise go to waste. OR… If you know of a tree in a park or other public space that goes unharvested, please get in touch to let us know where it is so that we can add it to our community map. |

~ Share Skills, Time, Resources |
Appleseed is always looking for creative contributions. Do you have a skill relating to gardening, tree care, web/graphic design, or urban agriculture? Do you have gardening tools or other resources that you would like to contribute or share? Please get in touch if there is a contribution you might have in mind. |
Do you have knowledge or a skill to share? Perhaps you’re an expert tree pruner or backyard gardener. Please get in touch if you would like to lead a workshop that supports the goals of the Appleseed Collective. |
Join a team of harvesters and spend a few sociable hours gathering fruit. The fruit gathered is then delivered to food banks and community kitchens around town, and all harvesters are welcome to take a basket or two home. It’s incredible how much fruit one tree can produce! Contact Appleseed if you would like to receive an e-mail or a telephone call about the harvesting schedule. |

Attend bi-weekly meetings and participate in the collective decision making process. Collective members work together to determine the long and short term goals of the group, as well as strategies for achieving them. For example, discussion might include future workshops and events, website design, community networking, budgeting, or grant applications. Most meetings involve a delicious potluck and some good laughs. |
